Exciting New Items Coming Soon!

I've been working on mass production of a few new goodies! By mass production I mean... making more than the usual amount I make for just myself. Mass isn't necessarily a good word but yeah there will be a few new items available in my shop soon!
  • Solid Perfume in many gorgeous scents.
  • Eye Shadow Sets for every eye color.
  • Mineral Veil Finishing Powder
  • Very Pale Ghostly Foundation
  • Clay Facial Mask Cream
  • Salt Scrubs
  • Sugar Scrubs
A little about each:

Solid Perfume - I'm offering solid perfume in two different sizes. 1/2 ounce jars and 1 ounce jars. If you wear perfume often you'll want to go with the 1 oz. jar and you will be set! If you want to try out the fragrance or you only use perfume on special occasions the 1/2 oz. size is the one for you. I offer free fragrance samples with the purchase of anything else from my shop! Just leave a message in the "notes to seller" with the fragrance(s) you would like to sample. Or if you don't know what fragrance you want to sample but you want one I can surprise you! Convo or e-mail me anytime with questions. Fragrance samples are oil soaked cotton in zip lock baggies.

Eye Shadow Sets for Every Eye Color - The best eye shadow colors for blue, green, brown or hazel eyes. In sets of 2 or 3. $7.50 for a 2 color set. $10.50 for a 3 color set. Either way you save! Buying these sets is cheaper than buying individual eye shadows from the shop. Take all the guess work out of eye shadow shopping! You know your eye color, we know what eye shadows will make it POP!

Translucent Mineral Veil Finishing Powder - A light translucent color. Gives your skin a nice even tone. The color we have is similar to Maybelline's Translucent finishing powder, but its cheaper! Wont dry your skin. Talc free. Does not contain any irritants. When applied on top of foundation it will set your foundation and get rid of shine. Can be worn on bare skin as well. It will make your skin coloring even and hide minor blemishes. Designed to look good on all skin tones. Does not contain silk or any other non-vegan ingredients.

Immortal Pale Foundation - A very light, pale foundation that will give your skin a ghostly whiteness. Great for costumes, halloween, goth looks, geisha makeup ect. Not a 'natural' skin tone color. Be warned: its very light, very pale, quite ghostly. If that isn't the look you are going for you wont want this. I don't make foundations in normal skin tones (at least not yet) because it is way to hard to create colors that will look great on different people's unique skin colors. I personally know how hard it is to find a foundation that isn't too orangey, pinky, yellowy and the last thing I want is dissatisfied customers! In the long run I hope to have a large selection of colors and a sampler set you can purchase to find your match. But for now, all you goths, and gorgeous girls with alabaster skin have this foundation to purchase.

Clay Facial Mask Cream - My recipe is made of just the bare necessities. No weird chemicals just all natural, vegan ingredients. It clears and refines pores, firms skin, stimulates circulation, gently exfoliates and cleanses. Our clay facial mask wont dry out your skin like types can so even people with dry and sensitive skin can use it. Its ideal for people with dry and sensitive skin but also works great for people with oily skin. Use weekly to keep your skin fresh and clear.

Sugar and Salt Scrubs - We have different recipes for different skin types! Scrubs designed for oily, dry and combination skin. These scrubs are all natural. What do sugar and salt scrubs do? They exfoliate better than your average soap or body scrub. Removes dead skin making your skin youthful and radiant. Stimulates blood circulation, clears pores, firms skin, smoothes skin, hydrates and more. Make this part of your beauty regimen using it once a week while in the shower. You will love the results!

Expect all those goodies to come out in the next couple weeks! These new products like everything else in our shop are 100% VEGAN!

Also we'll be selling a fun mystery gift boxes! For $25 you will get $30-$35 worth of merchandise. Random makeup, bath and body products.

Supplier of the Month (July) rusticescentuals.com Review

This month I would like to give special mention to Aroma Haven & Rustic Escentuals

They sell candle, soap, lip balm and bath and body stuff. From them I purchased vegan lip balm base (since my original recipe doesn't work well in chap stick tubes), slider tins, pipettes and safety goggles. Not a lot, I know, but I had already purchased most of my inventory from other shops. I did pick this shop for my "supplier of the month" award (no actual prize for this award just a blog review) because of their customer service.

They included 2 very generous sized free fragrance samples, candies and a nice note in the package. Really makes you feel like a valued customer. But on top of that the fragrances are awesome. The slider tins are so very cute. The pipettes work great and have nifty marks for measuring. Their prices were fair and the shipping was one of the fastest out of all of the many sites I've ordered from.

My only problem was with the lip balm base. I used it to make some lip balm and when I put it into my slim lip balm tubes it is hard to roll up and it wont roll back down. So the lip balm gets stuck up after you screw it up. I have the problem with every lip balm recipe I have tried where I can't get the balm to roll back down... Anyway this lip balm base is especially hard. Like my original recipe was. Not really sure what to do to fix it. If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them. My lip balm used in my sliders is from my recipe which I tweaked and tweaked until it was nice a soft and creamy. But it doesn't work in tubes. I'm glad I bought the smaller amount of lip balm base and I think with some tweaking I can make it work. It seems like good quality and moisturizing just needs a little more oil or something. I also think coating the inside of the tube with oil will help my sliding issue.

To summarize my review:
  • Fast shipping but pretty expensive
  • Very well packaged
  • Generous Free Samples
  • Large fragrance selection
  • Great fragrances
  • Cheap Oils
Thanks for reading. And if anyone has any lip balm tips for me please oh please share.

Random Product Review 1: SlimCat Interactive Toy and Food Dispenser

I want to start doing "random product reviews" where I review something unrelated to beauty. Should be fun and interesting. Hope you enjoy!

For my first review I'll be talking about the: MultiVet SlimCat Interactive Toy and Food Dispenser.
My cat is fat. I hate to admit it but he is and I know that's my fault. Before I took him in he was alone and starving. Maybe because I felt bad for him i over fed him at first. I don't know. Even by following the amount it says to feed him on the cat food bag he just kept gaining weight. I have a theory that because he almost starved to death before I found him out in the desert, that his metabolism is messed up and stores all his food as fat to keep him from starving again. That is probably dumb but hey just a theory. He isn't obese or anything. He just has a little droopy belly and I want him to be slim and healthy and live a long life.

So i bought this ball. Its a toy and a food dish all wrapped into one.

In short: I like it!

It took a while for my cat to get used to using the ball to get his food. We had to sort of ease him into it and show it to him all the time. But now he knows that's where his food comes from and he uses it.

Its been about 2 months and he has lost 1 lb. (That's a lot for a cat, right?) He is much more slim and healthy looking now.

The ball holds the convenient amount of 1 day's worth of food it in. So we just fill it up once a day.

How it works: The ball holds the convenient amount of 1 day's worth of food it in. So we just fill it up once a day. It has holes in it and you can adjust how big they are. The cat plays with the ball and the food falls out.

Pros:

  • Holds one day's worth of food which makes it easy for me
  • You wont over feed your cat
  • Makes your lazy cat exercise more
  • Easy to clean. Just pop it in the dish washer
  • Cheap
  • Different difficulty settings
Cons:
  • Ball is a bit big. Because it holds a full days worth of food the ball is kinda big for a cat to play with. Maybe 2 smaller half serving balls would have been better.
  • I don't know how well it would work out in a multi-cat home
Tips:
  • Put the ball on a clean hard floor surface that will be good for the cat to eat off of. There will be constant crumbs created so sweep the floor often. We use the ball in our guest bathroom which isn't used much. That way we aren't always kicking it around and stepping on food.
  • Still us a normal dish for moist food. Don't feed your cat moist food all the time because its bad for their teeth but you should feed the moist food occasionally so they don't get a urinary infection or something like that.
  • If you raise your cat from a kitten with this ball they will probably be really good about using it and stay very fit.
  • Start the ball on an easy setting so the cat can get used to it and realize that's where their food comes from now.
  • Do not fill the ball completely or the food wont come out very easily.
  • Buy multiples if you travel a lot so the cat can still get a bit of exercise while you are gone. But remember each ball only holds one days worth of food so put extra food in a bowl if you will be a gone for several days.

Oh, since this is related i just wanted to mention: If you get a large breed puppy that is prone to growing pains, like a Great Dane or Mastiff you can get similar balls to these or "smart toys" which make the dog have to sit for hours thinking and working their brain instead of running around and hurting their legs. You put a treat in the ball and the dog lays down and works on getting it out. My mom's vet recommended this to her for her mastiff puppy. Mastiffs experience growing pains for many months.

Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoyed and that your pet lives a long healthy life!
